Two weekends ago, I attended my first conference, Create & Cultivate.
If you are not familiar with Create & Cultivate, it’s an event series founded by Jaclyn Johnson. From their Instagram bio: A conference for women who want to create & cultivate the career of their dreams. Past speakers include the likes of: Rachel Zoe and Jessica Alba.
It was held at the Mason Fine Art Center in Atlanta, Ga.
While purchasing the ticket, you answer a short survey, in which, you indicate your interests, you can choose between: beauty & style, motivational, entrepreneurship, food, and others.
These categories are based on the topics that will be addressed in the conference.
This is to better shape the conference to your interests, so that you can get the most out of it.
If you are an inspiring blogger, entrepreneur, or even work in a corporate environment this conference will provide you with important information regarding social media, entrepreneurship, and creative businesses. You are learning from people that have been there and are currently there working and teaching in these industries, there’s no outdated or irrelevant information.
The way that C&C is created is to foster collaborations and networking. The day before the conference they host a happy hour in order for both speakers and attendees to interact and connect.
At the conference itself, only 600 ladies get to attend, it is held in a small, comfortable venue, where furniture is placed in a way that you feel at ease, and comfortable to strike up a conversation with fellow attendees and speakers a like.
These consist of a speaker or “mentor” that gathers around a circle with six to seven attendees in order to answer questions and share their stories in a more comfortable space.
After 30 mins, you switch to your second mentor and repeat.
The amount of information and knowledge you acquire is extensive and will get your mind racing with new ideas that’ll ignite your spark for your passion.
The day will be long, but you’ll leave fulfilled, energised, with a lot of ideas and new friendships.
I can’t wait to do it again soon!
