The best way to make my morning commute more enjoyable is definitely by listening to podcasts.
The first one I discovered was Jessica Murnane’s. And to this day it’s still one of my favorites.
Here’s the complete list that I rotate between depending on my mood and time of travel :
One Part Podcast- Her tagline is ”Lessons in next level inspiration” and with good reason, Jessica has the ability to ask the right questions and conducts the interview in such a way that makes you connect with the person that she’s interviewing. Her podcast is extremely real, raw, honest and will leave you for lack of a better word inspired.
The Lively Show– Jess Lively hosts this inspiring podcast in which she interviews entrepreneurs and creatives. She hopes something wonderful happens to you today. And it always leaves me with a positive high afterwards.
Adulthood Made Easy– Hosted by Sam Zabell from Real Simple magazine, I first heard of this podcast while reading RS Magazine. Sam asks all the questions that any recent graduate/20 something/ millennial would have. She interviews fellow co-workers, friends, and or anybody else that might have answers to this thing we call adulthood and that so many of us are clueless about.
Lady Gang– Jac Vanek (jac vanek clothing), Keltie Knight (insider), and Becca Tobin (glee); have honest and lighthearted conversations while having a drink. They interview hollywood’s celebrities and get them to spill on their up and downs in LA, amongst other things. These girls are absolutely hilarious and shouldn’t be missed.
Monocycle with Leandra Medine– If you’ve heard of Man Repeller, then you know Leandra. Apart from being the face of a successful blog turned website, Medine has a podcast in which she features insight into her thoughts on different subjects from serious topics like self sabotage and more lighthearted ones like what it takes to write an article. I love that it’s shorter than most podcasts and that it pretty much always makes me think about the topic after I’ve finished listening.
Mostly Mom with Tia Mowry– If you are a child of the 90s, you probably watched Sister,Sister. Although the title suggest otherwise , Mowry’s show isn’t all about motherhood, her main focus is to inspire and empower women through honest conversations. The first guest is her husband and it’s a great insight into how hard they’ve worked to be where they are today and how perseverance and love is the outmost important thing.
Ready. Aim. Empire.– This one is a recent discovery. She recently interviewed Jenna Kutcher, who is someone I admire. I love how Lise’s point of view regarding entrepreneurship defers greatly from what everyone else is doing; her motto is basically to work smarter and not harder; I’m looking forward to her next episodes.
Young House Love Has A Podcast – Sherry & John from the popular design blog Young House Love. It’s everything you’d expect from them and more. They discuss what they’ve been up to, give decorating tips, and chat with some big people in the design world (hint: emily henderson). They are extremely likable and pleasant to listen to.
For the boookworm:
All the Books– From Book Riot. Liberty & Rebecca discuss the books that they most enjoyed on the date that the book is released. It’s great insight into what a book is about and makes you evaluate which books are best to read according to your likes.
Dear Book Nerd – Also from Book Riot. Rita answers readers questions on book dilemmas. It’s quite entertaining if you are a lover of books, you might find yourself in similar situations.
Do you listen to podcasts? Any good ones I should add to my list?
